“..Finally! It is all set to go, 1 ... 2 ... 3, and .. PUBLISH! Yay! Now let’s just sit back, relax and move to other projects” this was me a few months ago and after realizing that my content is not getting views and leads, I thought that there must be some mistake I am making so I researched in depth to find out the reason of why my content is not ranking anywhere on the first page? and there came a blunder I was doing with my work and am pretty sure that most writers who are new to the field must be doing the same.

That blunder is sitting back on the couch after hitting the 'publish' button in the hope of getting backlinks only because your content is GREAT.

If you are also doing this, STOP right away ✋🏻

Instead of expecting your content to do wonders, why not let the potential linkers know about your published work? It will save you time in the future and take your content to the next level (not joking)

But what if you don't know how to open that secret door for yourself? Don't you have to worry! Let me open that for you. I am going to tell you five steps on how to do link building (a beginner's guide)

Step 1: Open Google, type the target keyword, and hit enter (first-page blogs are your competitors)

Step 2: Copy the URL of your competitor and run it in Semrush's Backlink Analysis section. Here you will get the list of linkers who are linking back to the URL. Do it for 2-3 URLs one by one.

Step 3: Export the list in Excel

Step 4: Now, you will need to find their email address. Use a tool named Snov.io for finding the email address.

Step 5: Write them a personalized and epic email requesting a backlink.

Is it a lot of work? Absolutely not!
Does this technique work? Absolutely yes!

So from now my dear fellows! Follow this guide to get backlinks. Backlinks are much important for SEO because they tell Google that your content is valuable enough for another source to link to it inside their website. Search engines assume that a website has practical content that is worth ranking highly in the SERPs as it acquires more backlinks. Hope it helps! 🙂
